Making Connections: School/Community Partnerships

Since 2007, the Great Lakes Stewardship Initiative (GLSI)
has been encouraging collaborative partnerships between schools and their
communities. Through these partnerships, they’ve developed knowledgeable and
active stewards of the Great Lakes. The GLSI is expanding classrooms and
strengthening communities, and they’re presenting at our next webinar.

Need help achieving Phase II Storm Water Permit Public Education Objectives?

Cranbrook's Water on the Go! state-wide watershed education program has already impacted the awareness of 40,000 students since 2007. Our programs directly address many educational objectives of Public Education Plans (PEPs). Programs are adaptable to a 4th to 12th grade audience and help prepare your community's next generation of water stewards. Part-time Environmental Education Position Available

Cranbrook Institute of Science is hiring a part-time Water on the Go! presenter for the Metro Detroit area. The Museum Educator II - Part-Time position will be responsible for coordination and delivery of watershed and Great Lakes education programs to a variety of different constituencies in the metropolitan Detroit area of Michigan. This is a grant-funded position and will involve travel throughout Oakland, Macomb, Wayne, Monroe and Washtenaw counties in order to deliver programs to outreach constituents. Cranbrook at GVSU Fall Science Update

Ginny Beauregard, Great Lakes Educator, presented the I Live in a Watershed lesson to educators attending the 2010 Fall Science Update at Grand Valley State University on November 17th. Participants had a chance to learn about the Water on the Go! program and see a great activity to teach students about their watershed and storm water pollution.
