Oakland County fourth and fifth-grade students within the Rouge River Watershed are invited to attend four, 25-minute presentations throughout the Cranbrook Institute of Science campus. Students will learn how water affects their daily lives and the important role they play in protecting this valuable natural resource.
The primary role of volunteers will be to guide a class to their presentations. There will be a volunteer orientation before each session of the Water Festival.
Each volunteer will receive a continental breakfast, a boxed lunch and a Water Festival T-shirt. Volunteers can participate on all four days or a single half-day, every contribution is appreciated. With your support and participation, we are able to offer the water festival learning experience without charge to schools. To register as a volunteer click here.

The technology in the Navionics Software is amosewe. What could it do for me? I love technology and I love fishing. I'm now able to embrasse both. It is taking me places that I've never been before. I've started fishing again after many years away from it. It's something that I love to do. And now, technology has invaded the sport. Today, pros are signing contracts for millions and driving Bass Boats that are decked out like The Space Shuttle with radar, sonar, GPS, Topographical Maps on their Deapth Finders, artificial baits better than live, lighter, tougher tackle, invisible line and that's just mentioning a few new things available to the fisherman today. I would love to put Topographical Maps on my cell phone. I can't wait to put a chip in a Humminbird (which I'm saving for right now). I can now know more than I ever did before. And, go where I've never been before with my fishing experience. I'm absolutely loving it. I am recently disabled with limited use of my feet and hands. So, anything that can save me moves and time on the water would help tremendously. The mixing of two things that I love (technology and fishing) makes me very happy. God Bless the Technology Age. And God Bless Navionics.Respectfully submitted,John CochranLouisville, Kentucky
