Michigan Green Leader Dr. John Hartig will discuss his book Burning Rivers: Revival of Four Urban-Industrial Rivers that Caught on Fire during a lecture at Cranbrook Institute of Science on Friday, May 13 at 7pm in the Auditorium. A book signing and garden tour are included in the lecture, which is free with admission to the Institute of Science. The garden tour begins at 6:30 pm in the central courtyard of the Institute, the tour will highlight native plants in the Erb Family Science Garden and the newly designed garden guidebook produced by the Cranbrook Upper Schools Winter Semester 2011 Botany Class with support from the Americana Foundation. Copies of the Burning Rivers book will be available following Dr. Hartig’s presentation for $35 each. All proceeds go to the Aquatic Ecosystem Health and Management Society.
