Build a Remotely Operated Underwater Vehicle with your students!

February 4 and 5, 2011 (from 3pm-9pm Friday/9am-3pm Saturday) at Oak Park High School in Oak Park, MI.

Workshop Presenter:  Mr. Keith Forton, Physics Teacher, Traverse City Central High School

 K-12 educators with an interest in hands-on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) disciplines are invited to attend this exciting 2-day workshop that provides a truly unique educational opportunity. Participants will receive an instruction manual, materials and support to design, engineer and build a fully functional underwater remotely operated vehicle or ROV.  STEM lessons, skills and activities presented in this workshop support standards and benchmarks in science, math and technology.

Scholarships Available for the 2011 Science Under Sail season!

With support from the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative, BaySail-Appledore Tall Ships is offering a limited number of full scholarships available to classrooms throughout mid-Michigan. Part-time Environmental Education Position Available

Cranbrook Institute of Science is hiring a part-time Water on the Go! presenter for the Metro Detroit area. The Museum Educator II - Part-Time position will be responsible for coordination and delivery of watershed and Great Lakes education programs to a variety of different constituencies in the metropolitan Detroit area of Michigan. This is a grant-funded position and will involve travel throughout Oakland, Macomb, Wayne, Monroe and Washtenaw counties in order to deliver programs to outreach constituents.
