Presenters needed for the Rouge River Water Festival

Water Resources Professionals & Educators - Please consider joining us as a Presenter for the Rouge River Water Festival September 14-17, 2010. Presentations are 25-minutes long. There are a number of ways to contribute and relate your work to 4th and 5th graders:

• Share what you do to help protect water
• Teach students about a water problem and why it is important
• Pass along knowledge of environmental issues
• Demonstrate tools and equipment that you use in your job
• Explain the science of your profession

Advanced Ecology Campers Explore the Huron River by Boat!

Cranbrook Institute of Science Advanced Ecology Campers enjoyed exploring the Huron River and Proud Lake Recreation Area by canoe and kayak on Thursday, August 19 with help from Heavner Canoe Rental. Campers enjoyed seeing fish, turtles, clams, dragonflies, aquatic plants, wildflowers and more in their 3-hour adventure! They also tested water quality to compare with data from the Rouge River on Cranbrook's campus.

 

New CIS Ecology Explorer Camp Video

The video features pictures of the week's activities. Campers had fun learning about the natural world and discovering the beautiful Cranbrook Campus with pond dips, scavenger hunts, ecology games, art projects and more! Thank you campers for an awesome week!
